Traffic statistics reports
IIC provides highly detailed, easily configurable usage reports in HTML format,
for viewing with a standard web browser. To create these reports, we use the
popular Webalizer software. Webalizer is a fast, robust, full-featured, open
source web server log file analysis program. Webalizer is highly regarded as
it is used by many thousands of systems around the globe.
Without web metrics, you're flying blind. Our traffic reports will tell you
such important information as:
- how many unique visitors your site is getting
- what pages are most popular
- what sites are referring the most traffic to you, and
- the most popular keywords that your visitors are using on the search engines
to find you.
In addition, use our Webalizer traffic reports to learn what advertising is
paying off and what isn't. Simply have separate "landing pages" that
each ad drops users to rather than dropping them onto the homepage.
Avoid the trap of thinking or talking about your site in terms of hits. As
the web metrics pundit Jim Sterne has been quoted as saying: "HITS = How
Idiots Track Success." Hits are meaningless, they are only a measure of
a file download. For example, a page with 20 unique graphics on it is 21 hits:
20 for each graphic file, and 1 for the HTML file.
